Water Polo Falls Just Short in CIF Championship

In what was a historic second season for the Parker Water Polo Team, the Lancers came up just short in the CIF Division 3 Championship Game, losing 11-8 to Classical Academy on Saturday morning.

In only their second season, the Lancer Water Polo program made a deep playoff run, defeating Oceanside, Bonita Vista, and Helix on their way to the championship game. Despite the loss, Head Coach Sam Busby was especially proud of his team, stating "The overall commitment to the program improved tremendously this year, and it was apparent in our results."

Senior Captain Andres Heredia echoed his head coach. "I'm just proud of the journey that the team has gone through to reach this point, including the practices, wins, and the losses that we've had. Over the first two years of the program, we have built a very positive and constructive team culture where the parents and fans are very supportive. I know the team will be able to build on this success in the coming seasons"

While the Lancers will lose several seniors off this year's team, they will return key players at multiple positions, including goalkeeper Spencer Lafferty and Freshman Alec Sheres.
